Dems file complaint against protest candidates

April 12, 2012 By Bob Hague

As expected, a Milwaukee attorney filed complaints Thursday with the Government Accountability Board, against six protest candidates running in the May recall primaries for state Senate, governor and lieutenant governor.

State Republican Party spokesman Ben Sparks called the filings by attorney Jeremy Levinson “a publicity student,” and said they’re confident each of the candidates will be on the May 8th ballot.

“Phony Democrats” ran in previous state Senate recalls, but were not challenged before the GAB. The agency will meet Tuesday to consider the challenges and decide who will be on the May ballot.
