Football Badgers in prime time this season

April 24, 2012 By Bill Scott

Camp Randall Stadium

After playing five games in prime time last season, the Wisconsin Badgers will have two games under the lights in the upcoming 2012 season.

The Big Ten Conference announced that the Badgers’ home game against Utah State on September 15 at Camp Randall Stadium will kick off at 7pm and be televised by the Big Ten Network.

Like last season, the Badgers will open Big Ten play in prime time against Nebraska.  Last year, the Badgers crushed the Cornhuskers 48-17 under the lights in Madison.  On September 29, Wisconsin will make its first visit to Nebraska’s Memorial Stadium since 1973.  The television assignment is yet to be determined (ABC, ESPN or ESPN2).

Last season, the Badgers beat UNLV, Nebraska and Michigan State (Big Ten Championship game) under the lights.  They also lost to Michigan State (reg. season) and Ohio State in prime time.

The Badgers have played 16 prime time games in head coach Bret Bielema’s six seasons, going 12-4 in those contests.  Dating back to 1995, Wisconsin is 29-5 in its last 34 night games.
