Gallardo goes for Brewers tonight

April 27, 2012 By Bill Scott

Because of an off day yesterday, the Milwaukee Brewers are going to give Yovani Gallardo his scheduled start tonight in their series opener against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Manager Ron Roenicke has elected to keep Gallardo on his normal 4-days rest, rather than push him to 5-days.  That means Marco Estrada, who is filling the fifth spot in the rotation for injured Chris Narveson.

Estrada will start game two of the series on Saturday with Zach Greinke wrapping up the series on Sunday.

Gallardo is 1-8 lifetime against St. Louis.  He gave up 4 home runs in the season opening 11-5 loss to the Cardinals at Miller Park.
