As the clock winds down to the May 8 recall primary, the four Democrats running for governor ‘make their case.’ Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett says he’ll bring jobs and begin the mending process, after Governor Walker has been “successful in dividing this state.”
Barrett has earned endorsements from major political figures. While former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk touts the numerous organizations supporting her, including major unions she calls part of the “heart and soul” of the recall movement.
Secretary of State Doug LaFollette says he is the only candidate who can unite Wisconsin. The sole Democrat in a statewide office emphasizes–in addition to being re-elected during the 2010 Republican sweep–he was elected in four races that saw Governor Tommy Thompson victorious.
State Senator Kathleen Vinehout says she is the “only candidate” with a budget proposal addressing education funding and the rising costs of health care.
The four each gave speeches on UW-Whitewater’s campus Wednesday.
