Gonzalez out for the season

May 8, 2012 By Bill Scott

Milwaukee Brewers Manager Ron Roenicke says shortstop Alex Gonzalez will undergo surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right knee and will miss the rest of the season.

Gonzalez was injured Saturday, sliding into second base during the Milwaukee Brewers 5-2 loss to San Francisco last Saturday.

Gonzalez signed a 1-year deal with the Brewers in the offseason.
