UW-Eau Claire and UW-River Falls will represent the WIAC in the NCAA Division III Softball Championships.
UW-River Falls (30-13) earned an automatic bid into the 61-team field by winning the WIAC tournament crown, while UW-Eau Claire (32-12) received one of 20 at-large spots.
The Falcons will meet Central College of Iowa in the Pella, Iowa regional in their opening round game. UW-River Falls is making its second straight NCAA appearance and fourth overall.
The Blugolds will participate in a regional event in Bloomington, Illinois. They’ll face Fontbonne College of Missouri in the opening round. UW-Eau Claire, the 2008 NCAA Division III champion, is making its sixth NCAA showing in the last seven seasons and 10th overall.
Other Wisconsin schools competing in the Bloomington, Regional will be St. Norbert College (17-18) and Carthage College (34-8).
