Arrest made in Eau Claire murder

June 13, 2012 By WRN Contributor

Investigators are working to solve Eau Claire’s first homicide case in nearly four years.  It was Saturday afternoon when 39-year-old Paul Oberle was found dead in the yard of his home in an Eau Claire neighborhood. And it took until the autopsy results came back to confirm that Oberle was murdered.

The victim returned home around 5:30 Saturday morning after finishing an overnight shift at a grocery store; his father found him lying face down eight hours later with visible injuries. Police say this was an isolated incident aimed at Oberle, and one suspect has been detained so far. Police are holding back details of the suspect, and how Oberle was murdered for investigative purposes.
