Brewers Hang On For Win

Martin Maldonado’s three run blast highlighted a 4 run sixth inning as the Brewers held on to best San Diego 6-5 on Sunday.  Ryan Braun also added a two run shot in the 7th.  Yovani Gallardo went six innings, giving up 5 hits, and two runs. The only earned run was Will Venable’s solo shot to open the game.  He also struck out five.  Jose Veras earned the save after John Axford was charged with 3 earned runs in one third of an inning,  Veras walked in a run, but also tallied the final out of the game in the 9th. The Brewers are off today and then open up a three game series in Kansas City on Tuesday night.
