Brewers host Cubs starting tonight

June 5, 2012 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Brewers, after a day off yesterday, open a 3-game series against the Chicago Cubs at Miller Park tonight.

Yovani Gallardo (4-4 4.42ERA) pitches for the Brewers.  The Cubs go with Ryan Dempster (0-3, 2.90ERA).

Gallardo has pieced together 6-consecutive quality starts.  He’s 5-1 with a 2.77 ERA in 11 career starts against the Cubs.

The Brewers are 5-2 this season against the Cubs, who enter Miller Park with a  11-game road losing streak.

Chicago’s struggles come on offense.  They were swept in a 4-game series by the San Francisco Giants and scored just 6-runs in the 4-game series.
