Canvass increases Lehman’s lead

June 12, 2012 By WRN Contributor

The Racine County canvass of last week’s vote totals in the 21st state Senate District race give former Senator John Lehman an even bigger margin of victory over incumbent Senator Van Wanggaard.

The canvass of that race was top priority today, and in less than two hours, while adding last minute absentee ballots, both candidates picked up votes. However, Lehman’s 779 initial difference over Wanggaard grew to 834. Now it’s up to Wanggaard whether to request & pay for a recount.

Senate Democratic Committee Executive Director Zac Kramer says Wanggaard should “take the high road and concede the election.” Wanggaard has until Friday to decide.
