June 22, 2012 By Bill Scott

Milwaukee Brewers second base prospect Scooter Gennett, who is playing at Double-A Huntsville was named to the roster for the U.S. Team for the All-Star Futures Game on July 8 in Kansas City.

Gennett is the only Brewers prospect named to the annual minor-league showcase that has the U.S. facing the World.

The 22-year-old Gennett was a 16th-round draft pick by the Brewers in the 2009 First Year Player Draft.  He is currently leading the Southern League with 83 hits and is hitting .300 for the season.
