Lucroy bashers, grow up!

June 1, 2012 By Bill Scott

Less than a week ago, Milwaukee Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy broke his hand during a freak accident

Jonathan Lucroy

in his hotel room.  Lucroy was reaching under his bed for a sock when his wife (Sarah) dropped a suitcase on his hand, resulting in the injury.

Lucroy, who just happened to be the Brewers hottest hitter this season, will be lost to the team for 6-weeks.

Looking for somebody to blame and harass, some Brewers fans have taken to Sarah Lucroy’s facebook page and are letting her have it, threats and all.

Lucroy told Sportsradio WSSP-1250 in Milwaukee that his wife is getting blistered with hate messages, blaming her for the injury and he’d like to see those messages stop.

Social media can be informational, useful and even fun.  It can also provide knuckleheads with a stage to be ridiculous.

Lucroy will be back in 6-weeks and the criticism pointed at Sarah Lucroy will likely find a new home.  But it sure would be nice if those involved would back off and give it a rest for a change.
