Wisconsin’s Lt. Governor thanks first time voters and social media for her win.
The governor’s historic recall race got all the attention, but Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch also made history by surviving the recall election against her. Kleefisch says she’s thankful for and humbled by Tuesday night’s victory. She credits twitter, facebook, email, and other such venues for her win. She says they couldn’t have done it without new media.
Kleefisch calls it a grassroots appeal unlike anything seen in the past.
Additionally, Kleefisch is especially grateful for all the new voters who came out to vote. She thanked the first-time voters … engaging voters who hadn’t been involved before.
The incumbent Kleefisch defeated her challenger state firefighters union president Mahlon Mitchell 53-to-47 percent.
