U.S. Women’s Open Nears (AUDIO)

June 15, 2012 By Bill Scott

The Men’s U.S. Open is in the spotlight now, but in less than a month the U.S. Women’s Open will tee-off at Blackwolf Run in Kohler.  Manager of Golf Course Maintenance Mike Lee says most of the work was done in 2009 and 2010. They replaced all the grace in fairways and sand in bunkers and even replaced some of the grass in the rough. Lee adds that there will be a few changes to the course from when the Women’s Open was there in 1998. He says a lot of people are in Kohler setting up the course as all of the tents and bleachers and such are taking shape.  The U.S.women’s open is July 5th through the 9th.
