Brewers Swept Away In Cincy

July 23, 2012 By Bill Scott

The Reds may have slammed the door shut on the Brewers 2012 playoff hopes with a 2-1 win on Sunday in Cincinnati.  The Reds scored a pair of runs in the 3rd inning and that’s all the Reds would need.  Johnny Cueto struck out 9 in seven innings worth of work. Aroldis Chapman struck out two in the 9th for his 17th save.  Mike Fiars drops to 3-4 on the season as the hard luck loser.  The loss drops the Crew 10.5 games behind the Reds in the N.L. Central.  The Brewers open up a series in Philadelphia tonight.  Randy Wolf takes on Roy Halladay.
