Bianchi’s 1st career blast powers Brewers

Jeff Bianchi clubbed his first Major League home run, a 3-run blast in the second inning to power the Milwaukee Brewers to a 4-1 win over the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field on Tuesday night.

Bianchi had the green light with 2-outs and a 3-0 count.

Yovani Gallardo (14-8) worked 7 innings, striking out 9 for his seventh straight win.  The Brewers have won 7 of their last 8.

Travis Wood lost for the 8th time in his last nine starts despite holding the Brewers to 5-hits and 3-runs in 7 innings. 

Game 3 of the 4-game series is tonight.
