Fiers sharp in Brewers win

Milwaukee right hander Mike Fiers continued his outstanding rookie season, pitching the Brewers to a 3-1 win over the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field on Wednesday night.

Fiers held the Cubs to 1-run on 4-hits in 7 1/3 innings.  He’s 8-6 with a 2.85 ERA.  Fiers set down 14-straight batters at one point.

The Brewers have won 8 straight games over the Cubs and are 13-3 against them this season.

Fellow rookie Jean Segura broke up a 1-1 tie with a run scoring single off of Cubs starter Jeff Samardzija. 

The Brewers won the first three games in the series and will go for the sweep this afternoon.
