Freshman Russell wins Badger kicking job

August 21, 2012 By Bill Scott

Wisconsin Badger football coach Bret Bielema released his first depth chart of

Jack Russell

the season and Waunakee freshman kicker Jack Russell has won the kicking job.

Russell will handle field goals and extra points after beating out sophomore Kyle French.  The two were neck and neck throughout most of training camp, but French fell off late last week.  He’ll still handle kickoffs.

One other position of interest is fullback where Derek Watt moved from linebacker to fullback just a week ago.  Watt is listed as the co-starter along with sophomore Sherard Cadogan.
