Marquette self reports possible violation

August 9, 2012 By Bill Scott

Marquette University has reported a possible rules violation involving the men’s basketball program to the NCAA.

In a statement issued today (Thursday), the school’s athletic director Larry Williams says Marquette takes potential violations seriously and “followed established protocols and reported the matter directly to the NCAA” once the potential violation was discovered.

The school didn’t disclose the nature of the violation.  Williams said there will be no further comments at this time.
