House a longshot for season opener

September 6, 2012 By Bill Scott

Davon House returned to the practice field with the Green Bay Packers for the first time since injuring his

shoulder in the preseason opener at San Diego on Aug. 9, but he didn’t practice with the brace that he’ll have to wear on his injured left shoulder.

House took part in a small portion of practice on Wednesday but isn’t sure when he’ll play next.

House appeared to be on his way to winning the starting job at corner, opposite Tramon Williams.  The question that remains, can House be as effective with the brace on.  Either way, he still has to prove himself on the practice field before he could play.

Tramon Williams played with a brace last season but his production was down considerably.  But House will need to stay with the Brace.  If he were to dislocate his shoulder again, he said doctors told him he would need season ending surgery.

House still holds out hope that he can play on Sunday, but it doesn’t seem too likely.
