Wisconsin picked fourth in WCHA media poll

September 26, 2012 By Bill Scott

The Men’s college hockey season opens in less than two weeks and the WCHA’s media is out with its preseason poll.

The Wisconsin Badgers have been picked to finish forth by a panel of 25 media members.  Defending league regular season champion Minnesota was chosen to repeat the performance, while North Dakota grabbed the second spot.  Denver is third, followed by the Badgers.

Wisconsin junior forward Mark Zengerle grabbed a spot on the Preseason All-WCHA team for Wisconsin’s lone individual honor.

The Badgers open the season on Saturday, Oct. 6, with their first official practice in the morning, then their first game, an exhibition at 8pm that night against the U.S. Under-19 Team at the Kohl Center.
