Man threatened to set pregnant woman on fire

October 3, 2012 By WRN Contributor

A Marshfield man is in custody, after allegedly attempting to kill his girlfriend and her unborn child. Police Chief Gary Jepson said the couple were in a three-hour long domestic dispute on Saturday, where he confined her, assaulted her, attempted to strangle her, and poured gasoline on her threatening to burn her and her unborn child.

Jepson said the 23-year-old suspect is in the Wood County Jail on a probation hold. He had heroin in his possession when arrested. The man’s name is being withheld until formal charges are filed.

The 28-year-old woman has undergone a health evaluation by a doctor. There’s no public report on the condition of the woman and the unborn child.
