Braun hauls in another Silver Slugger

Milwaukee Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun has captured his 5th consecutive

Silver Slugger award, given to the top offensive player at each respective position in both the National and American leagues.

The votes come from managers and coaches, who are not allowed to vote for players on their own teams. 

Braun led the National League with 41 home runs and 108 runs scored.  His 122 rbi’s, 191 hits and .595 slugging percentage ranked 2nd.  Braun hit .319 which ranked 3rd.  The other two National League Silver Slugger Awards were handed out to Jay Bruce of Cincinnati and Andrew McCutchen of Pittsburgh. 

Braun is the only Brewers to receive a Silver Slugger Award this season.
