Madison police shoot burgarly suspect

November 9, 2012 By WRN Contributor

A burglary suspect was shot and killed by police in downtown Madison early this morning. Police spokesman Joel Despain says officers responded to a call about a burglary in progress, shortly before 3 a.m. in the 500 block of South Baldwin. There was a “physical confrontation and struggle” leading to the officer shooting the man, killing him. Despain says the 30-year-old suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were hurt. Police continue the investigation.
