The Wisconsin Badgers men’s hockey team is now undefeated in their last six games, and swept Alabama Huntsville with a 4-1 win Friday night.
The Badgers (4-7-5, 2-5-5 WCHA) rolled over the Chargers 5-0 Thursday night.
Wisconsin, which got off to a slow start this season, has rallied to head into the holiday break on a high note.
Friday’s game did not start ideally for the Badgers, as Alabama Huntsville scored in the first period at the 18:53 mark on a Michael Webley goal to make it 1-0 Chargers.
The Badgers tied the game up early in the second period on a Joseph LaBate goal at the 2:25 mark. Badger Kevin Schulze scored at the 13:14 mark, and the second period ended 2-1 Wisconsin.
The Badgers, determined to keep this lead and earn a series sweep, solidified the win by scoring two more goals in the third period. Derek Lee lit the lamp at the 11:35 mark to make it 3-1, and Brendan Woods scored three minutes later to make the game 4-1.
The Badgers take a break with final exams looming for the students and the holidays approaching, and will play their next game on the road as they take on Alaska Anchorage January 4.
