Battered woman pleads for help via Facebook

December 26, 2012 By WRN Contributor

A Kenosha woman used Facebook to alert friends that she had been battered by her husband, who had broken her phone so she couldn’t call police.

Kenosha Police were called Christmas night within minutes by at least two people who found the post, which included the victim’s address.

In their own Facebook post, Kenosha police said it was a legitimate case of Domestic Abuse and the victim was lucky people reading the post called for help. They say victims should do whatever they can to reach out and get help, and in this case, a post on social media could have saved a life.
