December 23, 2012 By admin

The Marquette Golden Eagles rebounded from their loss at Green Bay this week to beat the LSU Tigers at home on Saturday..

Marquette started strong, taking a 45-lead into the halftime break.  That quickly disappeared in the second-half as LSU went on a 27-6 run to tie the game at 49-49 with 14:55 to play.

With the Golden Eagles up by 4 late, Charles Carmouche lost possession for the Tigers and Marquette’s Davante Gardner was able to score two points putting the game away for the Golden Eagles.

Four Marquette players hit double-digit scoring on the night.  Davante Gardner led the way with 19, Vander Blue and Junior Cadougan each scored 17 points, and Jamil Wilson added 11.

The Golden Eagles were led in rebounding by Chris Otule with seven, and Trent Lockett with six.

LSU had five players in double-digits for scoring, led by Andre Stringer with 20 points.
