For the second time this season, Minnesota running back Adrian Peterson wore out
the Green Bay Packers defense, this time in a 37-34 Vikings victory at the Metrodome.
Peterson’s final carry was for 26 yards to the Packers 11, setting up a Blair Walsh 29-yard field goal, sending the Vikings to victory and into the playoffs as the 6-seed in the NFC. It also set up a rematch against the Packers at Lambeau Field this Saturday night.
The Peterson tallied 199 total yards on the ground for the day, leaving him 9-yards short of the NFL’s regular season record held by former Rams star Eric Dickerson.
The loss for the Packers means no 2-seed and no opening-round bye. Mike McCarthy said they can’t do anything about it now.

Aaron Rodgers tossed four touchdown passes and no interceptions in the loss, racking up 365 yards. But Rodgers second half fumble was the only turnover of the game which turned out to be a difference maker.
The two teams will kick off the NFC wildcard game at Lambeau Field this Sunday at 7pm. They split the first two games during the regular season.
