Wisconsin’s Gulczynski named Big Ten’s Player of the Week

December 18, 2012 By Bill Scott

For the first time in four years, the Wisconsin women’s basketball team has a

Jacki Gulczynski

Big Ten Conference Player of the Week.  Sophomore Jacki Gulczynski picks up her first Big Ten weekly honor, sharing the award with Aulani Sinclair of Indiana.

Gulczynski posted back-to-back double-doubles last week, setting career highs in points and rebounds in consecutive games.

Gulczynski started the week off by picking up her first career double-double with 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds against Florida Atlantic on Dec. 10.

Against Eastern Illinois on Dec. 15, Gulczynski scored Wisconsin’s first 11 points and was a perfect 8-for-8 from the field to start the game.  She finished with career and game-highs of 24 points and 13 rebounds, her second consecutive double-double.

Wisconsin closes out 2012 with a three-game road swing, traveling to Green Bay on Sunday for a 7pm game against the Phoenix before traveling to Miami (Florida) for the Miami Holiday Invitational Dec. 28-29.
