Driver says he’s hanging up the spikes

Driver said he is “hanging up his spikes.”

Driver made the announcement on ESPN Radio’s Mike & Mike show this morning.  He’ll make the official announcement with the Packers next Wednesday, during a ticketed ceremony at Lambeau Field next Wednesday.

The 37-year old Driver is Green Bay’s all-time leading receiver in receptions and yards and has a Super Bowl Championship to boot.

Driver said his family helped him make this decision.

Driver was a 7th round pick out of Alcorn State in 1999.  He finished last season with just 8 catches for 77 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Driver’s 10,137 career receiving yards ranks No. 1 in franchise history.  His 743 receptions also ranks #1.
