Madison police investigate murder-suicide

January 25, 2013 By WRN Contributor

Madison police say the city’s first homicide of the year was likely a murder-suicide. Jennifer Boyce, an epidemiologist with the state Division of Public Health, was found dead in her apartment on the city’s East Side Thursday morning. Boyce was discovered by a manager at her complex. Police say the killer got inside by breaking through a first floor patio door.

Later on Thursday, officers went to the home of Boyce’s estranged husband Bernard Grosso. A police spokesman confirmed Grosso died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Boyce was due in court this morning to finalize a divorce from her husband.
