Ryan reflects on Obama’s inauguration

January 21, 2013 By WRN Contributor

Congressman Paul Ryan says he’s focusing on the future with President Obama’s second term rather than the election in which the Janesville Congressman was defeated as running mate on the Republican Presidential ticket.

“Look it went the other way,” says Ryan, the House budget chairman. “The way I look at this is a day where you put aside your disagreements; you move forward.”

Ryan, who is on hand at the president’s ceremony, says the “peaceful transition” is “a sign of how civil and unique our country is.”

Obama and Vice President Joe Biden took their official oaths-of-office Sunday, as required by the Constitution. But whenever the Inauguration Day falls on Sunday, the public proceedings are normally pushed back to Monday.
