A rough tuneup for Gallardo

Less than a week before Yovani Gallardo departs for the World Baseball Classic to pitch

for Mexico, the Brewers right-hander made his first spring start in the Milwaukee Brewers 6-5 loss to the Seattle Mariners.

Gallardo worked 2 2/3 innings, allowing 5-hits, including a double and 2-home runs.

Marco Estrada followed Gallardo on the mound and was sharp, working three scoreless innings.

The Brewers fell to 1-4 in Cactus League play.  They’ll face the Kansas City Royals today.
