The Clark County Sheriff’s Department is continuing its investigation into a weekend traffic crash which sent 13 people to area hospitals. Some of the victims of the three vehicle crash remain in critical condition.

On Sunday, February 10, at about 3:30 p.m., the Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call reporting a crash involving three vehicles with numerous injuries, on U.S. Highway 10 about one mile west of Hickman Road. Initial investigation indicates an eastbound vehicle lost control in the slushy road conditions, first sideswiping one westbound vehicle and then striking a second westbound vehicle nearly head on. Seven victims in the striking vehicle were transported, five victims in the vehicle that was struck head-on were transported and one person in the vehicle that was side swiped. The victims were transported to Mayo Health Systems-Oakridge Hospital in Osseo, Black River Memorial Hospital and Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

USH 10 was closed and traffic was re-routed until about 8:00 pm when it was reopened. Exact conditions of the victims are unknown. Some have been treated and released and some are currently in critical condition. Three of the victims required extrication from the vehicles.
