A Madison man was in the wrong place at the wrong time this week. Dane County deputies picked up 28 year-old Emmanuel Haslett during a traffic stop on Wednesday and found that he owed about $6,000 in back child support. They also learned that he had recently won $10,000 at DeJope Casino – and $13,000 on him when taken into custody. Elise Shaffer said the big win paid off – for Haslett’s dependents. “That money will go where it should go, the mother and the child in this case,” Shaffer told NBC 15 in Madison. “Our deputies feel good when they can make an arrest that definitely results in something good happening.” Shaffer said right now in Dane County, there are 975 outstanding warrants for those who owe on child support.
