Badgers take on UMass Lowell (Audio)

The Badger Men’s Hockey team will skate in their first NCAA tournament since 2010 this afternoon.  Wisconsin will take on the River Hawks of UMass Lowell Friday Afternoon in New Hampshire.

If you rewind the clock back to early on in the season, the Badgers went 1-7-2 in their first 10-games and things were looking bleak.  Wisconsin scored just 43-goals over their first 20-games, but have surged with that exact number of scores in their last 11-games.  Freshman Nic Kerdiles on the recent scoring barrage…

Wisconsin earned their ticket to the dance by winning the WCHA Final Five in St. Paul despite finishing in a tie for fourth in the conference.  The turnaround after the rough start and coming together at the end of the season validates Mike Eaves as a coach according to forward Michael Mersch…

The River Hawks will be making their 2nd straight and 5th ever appearance in the Men’s Hockey tournament while Wisconsin is in its 25th tournament.  The puck drops at 3:30.
