Dive team looking for semi driver off I-94

March 5, 2013 By WRN Contributor

Part of Interstate-94 is closed in western Wisconsin, after a semi-truck left the freeway and plunged over a bridge into the Red Cedar River. It happened about 3:50 this morning near Menomonie, just as a heavy snowstorm was entering the area.

The State Patrol said a rescue team was called to try-and-find the driver. There was no immediate word as to whether the new snow caused the mishap. Up to four inches fell in the region by seven o’clock. The area expects to get up to 10 inches by the time the storm clears out tonight

Both eastbound lanes of I-94 were closed at Menomonie with traffic being detoured on Highway 25.
