Finley to stay put in Green Bay

March 26, 2013 By Bill Scott

The Green Bay Packers will pony up the $3-million roster bonus due

Jermichael Finley

Jermichael Finley

tight end Jermichael Finley today.  It means Finley will be with the team for the final year of his contract this season, at a 2013 salary of $8.25-million.

The move also means the Packers won’t be asking Finley to take a pay cut for the upcoming season, something he earlier indicated he was not willing to do.

Finley set a franchise record for receptions by a tight end with 61 for 676 yards and 2 touchdowns.  The touchdown total is low.  In 2011, Finley caught 55 passes for 767 yards and 8 touchdowns.
