March 6, 2013 By Bill Scott

The Horizon League men’s basketball tournament tipped off last night.  Green Bay shot just 33% from the field but it was more than enough to beat last place Milwaukee 62-46 at the Resch Center in Green Bay.

The outcome eliminates Milwaukee (8-24) from the Horizon League Tournament and ends their season.

Green Bay (17-14) got 18 points from Alec Brown and 16 from Keifer Sykes in the win.

The Phoenix advance to play 5th seeded Illinois-Chicago on Friday in Valparaiso, Indiana.  The Flames got past the 8-seed, Cleveland State 82-59 last night.
