Kaukauna hires longtime veteran as new football coach

March 1, 2013 By Bill Scott

Kaukauna high school has found its next head football coach.  The school district board approved the hiring of Michael Moreau.

Moreau brings 29 years of coaching experience with him to the Ghosts, including 26 years as head coach and three years as a defensive coordinator at Hilbert High School.

Moreau has been a part of three WIAA State Championship teams and three WIAA State Runner-Up teams, and has been named Wisconsin Football Coaches Association District 12 Coach of the Year six times.  He also has an overall coaching record of 215-59 as a head coach, and was enshrined in the WFCA Hall of Fame in 2003.

Moreau takes over at Kaukauna after Chris Sievert resigned after 4-seasons at the school.  The Ghosts finished 1-8 this past season, including an 0-7 mark in the Valley Football Association.  Sievert went 9-27 over the last 4-seasons.  His best year came back in 2011 when the Ghosts went 9-4 and made the playoffs.
