and long-lasting tradition themselves as the WIAA Girls State Basketball tournament tips off at the Resch Center on Thursday.

The girls tournament will play at the Resch Center for each of the next two seasons.  Officials in charge in Green Bay are ready to put on a show.  They’d like to put such a stronghold on the girls event that the WIAA would consider making the Resch Center the permanent home.

The Resch Center is already an approved site for the WIAA.  The state girls volleyball tournament has been played at that location since 2002.

Following is the girls lineup at the Resch Center this week.

Thursday – Division 5 semifinals – 1:35pm

Wausau Newman (20-7) vs. Wisconsin Rapids Assumption (26-1)
South Shore (26-0) vs. Barneveld (26-1)

Thursday – Division 4 semifinals – 6:35pm

Algoma (24-2) vs. Cuba City (24-1)
Colfax (25-1) vs. Racine Prairie (23-2)

Friday – Division 3 semifinals – 9:05am

Kewaunee (25-1) vs. Lodi (24-2)
Neillsville (26-0) vs. East Troy (25-1)

Friday – Division 2 semifinals – 1:35pm
