Top-seeded Green Bay tips off HL tourney tonight

The 20th ranked Green Bay Phoenix open the women’s Horizon League Tournament at the Kress Center tonight as the top seed.  Green Bay (26-2, 16-0 HL) will host No. 8 seed Valparaiso (11-19, 5-11) at 7pm tonight.

The Phoenix wrapped up its fifth unbeaten conference slate of the Division I era in program history with an 80-56 win at Milwaukee on Saturday.

Green Bay opened last year’s Horizon League Tournament with a 77-53 win over the Crusaders, led by then-senior Julie Wojta who recorded 17 points and six steals.
