Brewers lose series finale to the Rockies (Video)

It’s only three games, but the Milwaukee Brewers pitching staff has little to write

home about.  They gave up 15-hits on Wednesday night and fell to the Colorado Rockies 7-3 as the Rockies won the series two games to one.

In the three game series, the Brewers pitching staff allowed 41 hits and eight home runs.  Three of the 8 home runs are off of Brewers closer John Axford, including two last night when the Brewers trailed just 4-3.

The home run number could have been worse, but Milwaukee center fielder Carlos Gomez robbed Colorado Carlos Gonzalez by taking a home run away.

Second baseman Rickie Weeks had a three hit night, finishing just a triple shy of the cycle.

The loss goes to Wily Peralta.  Newly acquired Kyle Lohse will make his first start for the Brewers on Friday night at Miller Park against Arizona.  The Brewers will take the day off today.
