The Brewers got home runs from Ryan Braun, Jonathan Lucroy and Gallardo. Gallardo’s 2-run homer is his first this season and the 11th of his career. Braun’s home run is his third this season, a 2-run shot in the first. He had been in a 1 for 18 slump, including 11 strikeouts.
Milwaukee did all the damage in the first three innings off of Giants ace Matt Cain
(0-2). The Giants have now lost 4 of their last 6 and fell to 0-4 in games that Cain has pitched in this season.
The Brewers have bounced back to win 4-straight games after a 2-8 start. They swept the Giants for the first time since 2008.
Mike Fiers
After the game, the Brewers optioned right hander Mike Fiers to Triple-A Nashville and recalled right-hander Hiram Burgos. The 25-year old Burgos will make his major league debut by starting Saturday against the Chicago Cubs at Miller Park.
