Another departure from the Green Bay basketball program

May 31, 2013 By Bill Scott

The Green Bay men’s basketball team has lost its fifth player in the last few months.  Sophomore Cole Stefan has asked to be released from his scholarship and will not return to the Phoenix next season.

The 6’4 Stefan transferred to Green Bay in January of 2012 and became eligible for the second semester of last season.  He served a three-game suspension in December for violation of team rules, then played in 19 games, including one start.  Stefan averaged 3.4 points a game last season.

Stefan began his college career at La Salle but transferred after his freshman year following a series of concussions.

Stefan is hoping to transfer to another Division 1 school.
