Arrest made in Racine triple homicide

May 30, 2013 By WRN Contributor

An attempt to obtain a fake ID in Tennessee has resulted in a second arrest in a triple homicide in Racine that took place nearly eight years ago. Demetrus Ozier was arrested by U.S. Marshalls in Memphis at the Department of Motor Vehicles with a packet of false identification documents.

The 31 year-old Ozier is the second man to be arrested in connection with the shootout in Racine in July of 2005 that resulted in the deaths of Aaron Woods, Ryan Lockridge and Frank Mister. Four other people were also shot during the incident which apparently began as a dispute over a rigged dice game.

Ozier is being held in Tennessee until he can be extradited back to Racine where he will face two counts of first degree intentional homicide and four counts of attempted homicide.

Meanwhile, the first man arrested in the case, Juwan Matthews, remains in the Racine County Jail on a half million dollars bond. A preliminary hearing in his case is scheduled for mid-June.

Racine police say the investigation into the crime continues.
