Brewers snap 5-game losing skid

May 8, 2013 By Bill Scott

After being roughed up by the St. Louis Cardinals over the weekend, the Milwaukee Brewers needed a solid outing by a starting pitcher and that’s exactly what they got from Wily Peralta.  The Brewers rookie right hander worked 6-solid innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits.  Peralta picked up his 3rd win (3-2) of the season.

Peralta had plenty of early help as the Brewers scored five runs in the first inning, capped off by Yuniesky Betancourt’s 8th home run of the season, a two run shot.

Aramis Ramirez also clubbed his first home run of the season in the 7th for some late inning insurance.  Ramirez’s homer is the 340th as a third baseman.  That’s 6th on the all-time list for 3rd basemen.

Jim Henderson pitched the 9th inning for his 7th save of the season.

The two teams close out their 2-game series tonight.  Kyle Lohse (1-3, 3.16) pitches for the Brewers.  Derek Holland (2-2, 2.74) pitches for the Rangers.
