Wisconsinites set to help tornado victims

May 21, 2013 By Brian Moon

An American Red Cross official in Wisconsin says they are preparing to send helping hands to the community decimated by a tornado Monday. “Probably sometime today we are going to be receiving the request to start sending our trained personnel down to Oklahoma,” spokesperson Barbara Behling said this morning.

She said Red Cross responders usually stay for two-to-three weeks. This duration allows the personnel to become entrenched in the local community while building the necessary relationships to provide the “most help possible.”

Behling said for those who want to help the victims, they welcome financial contributions by calling 1-800-Red Cross, texting “Red Cross” to 90999, or going to redcross.org.
