Baseball draft starts tonight

June 6, 2013 By Bill Scott

Major League Baseball’s Amateur Draft gets underway this evening, but the Milwaukee Brewers attempt to restock the cupboard will have to wait awhile.

The Brewers, by signing free agent pitcher Kyle Lohse before the start of the season, had to cough up their first-round pick, #17 overall, to the Cardinals.

That means the Brewers won’t pick until round two, #54 overall.  It’s the first year the Brewers’ haven’t had a 1st round pick since 1990.
