Brewers open a 3-game series in Houston

June 18, 2013 By Bill Scott

After an off day Monday, the Brewers return to action Tuesday night against former NL Central rival Houston.  The Astros made the move to the American League before the start of this season.

Entering play Tuesday, Milwaukee (28-40) is tied with Chicago (28-40) for last place in the National League Central.  St. Louis (45-25) has the best record in the Majors and leads the Brewers by 16-games.  Cincinnati (43-28) is 2.5 games back of the Cardinals while Pittsburgh (41-29) is 4-back.  The Reds and Pirates currently hold the National League Wild Card spots.  The Brewers are 12-back of the Pirates for the final one.

Pitching Probables for the series:

Tuesday (7:10):  Alfredo Figaro (1-0, 3.47 ERA) vs Jordan Lyles (3-1, 3.48 ERA)

Wednesday (7:10):  Kyle Lohse (2-6, 3.84 ERA) vs Erik Bedard (2-3, 4.82 ERA)

Thursday (1:10):  Yovani Gallardo (6-6, 4.41 ERA) vs Lucas Harrell (5-7, 4.48 ERA)

Milwaukee is in the middle of a 9-game road trip which took them to Miami and Cincinnati.  The Brewers have split the first 6-games to trip so far.
